Our alumni Aboriginal partner organisations have graduated from the Aboriginal Partnership Program. They are now experienced at finding and working with skilled volunteers, and at identifying and securing philanthropic funding.
Our alumni partners continue their involvement with Woor-Dungin. They participate in our professional development programs, receive counselling and mentoring, assist us in facilitating philanthropic organisations’ access to Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and provide advice and support to current Aboriginal partner organisations.
Healesville Indigenous Community Services Association
Since 2009, Healesville Indigenous Community Services Association (HICSA) has provided a culturally appropriate and secure space where people from Indigenous communities can meet with mainstream service providers. HICSA collaborates with mainstream organisations to build cultural awareness and a commitment to reconciliation.
HICSA is committed to developing a mix of direct and partnership-based services delivered by an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation. It focuses on links between health, education, employment, family and a strong community.
ILBIJERRI Theatre Company
ILBIJERRI Theatre Company was formed in 1990 when a group of Melbourne Indigenous artists and community members came together to form a professional theatre company for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Victoria. Indeed, ilbijerri is a Woiwurrung word meaning ‘coming together for ceremony’. Today ILBIJERRI is Australia’s leading and longest-running Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Theatre Company.
Since the company’s inception we have been initiating and developing performances in collaboration with our community and artists. Our plays explore a range of complex and controversial issues from a uniquely Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective. Our work possesses the power to reach out and remind audiences of every person’s need for family, history and heritage.
