In 2015 Woor-Dungin began a fruitful relationship with Philanthropy Australia, the peak body for philanthropic organisations and individuals in Australia, which invited Woor-Dungin to take up the new role of National Moderator for Indigenous Issues for Philanthropy Australia’s Funder Central section.
Funder Central provides papers, articles and other resources to Philanthropy Australia members across a range of funding-interest areas, each with a moderator. Funder Central aims to inspire and build knowledge, share practice and cutting-edge thinking, and maximise the philanthropic sector’s effectiveness and impact.
As National Moderator, Woor-Dungin submits to Philanthropy Australia reports and other media that we believe will help philanthropic organisations keep abreast of issues considered relevant to Aboriginal communities. In this way we help to build connections between philanthropy and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and directly support our respectful relationships initiative.
The resources are submitted to Philanthropy Australia following their appraisal and recommendation by an Advisory Committee made up of individuals from our Aboriginal partner organisations, our committee of management and our membership. They are also uploaded to the Resources section of our website.
We are grateful to the Advisory Committee for contributing their time and advice towards this valuable endeavour.
