Criminal Record Discrimination Project

Victoria is the only state in Australia that does not have spent convictions legislation. It is also legal for employers to discriminate on the basis of offences that do not relate to the job they are applying for. Woor-Dungin’s Criminal Record Discrimination Project was set up to advocate for legislative reform from an Aboriginal perspective.

Maarni Aboriginal Women’s Leadership Program

Women nominated by our Aboriginal partner organisations participate in training, mentoring and work experience, and are introduced to resources to support them in achieving their goals. We hope to offer the Maarni program again in 2018.

Philanthropy Australia National Moderator for Indigenous Issues

Woor-Dungin’s Aboriginal Advisory Committee reviews a range of information and educational material suitable for uploading onto Philanthropy Australia’s Funder Central portal.

Respectful Relationships

The philanthropic sector is increasingly aware of the need for grantmakers to build strong, respectful funding relationships with Aboriginal community-controlled organisations. Nonetheless, Woor-Dungin believes that philanthropy could do more.
